Kyzylorda - the centre of Kyzylordinsky area of Kazakhstan. Earlier the city was called the Ak-mosque, Perovsk, Kyzyl-Orda. The city has been put, as the Fortress the Ak-mosque in 1820 the Omar-khan, the governor of Kokandsky khanate. The Ak-mosque in transfer is meant by «the White Fortress». In 1925 the city has been renamed in Kyzyl-Orda (in transfer from the Kazakh «the red capital» means) in connection with carrying over here capitals of republic from Orenburg.
In second half 1990th years, with gradual growth of economy of Kazakhstan, the city began to be restored after "reorganisation" ruin, and in a consequence actively to develop. City communications, roads, a number of apartment houses have been repaired; new squares are broken. The modern city of Kyzyl-Orda — beautiful and pure.
The major enterprises of a city economy are tselljulozno-cardboard factory, building materials, house-building industrial complexes, shoe, sewing and knitted factories. In a city there is a versatile state university (KyzGu of a name of Korkyt-ata), Agro-technical, Medical and Pedagogical colleges, Kyzylordinsky regional is musical-drama theatre of N.Bekezhanova, and also historic-museum of local lore.
Having visited Kyzylorda, it is necessary to visit such historical monuments, as Mechet Ajtbaja and the Piously-Kazan temple of an icon of Divine Mother.
The mosque of Ajtbay — the oldest mosque of Kyzylorda (1878), is located in historical city centre. The mosque is constructed at the initiative of a merchant of Ajtbay Baltabaev who has granted the greatest sum on building. Over building masters Iskan and Kamal supervised. The piously-Kazan temple of an icon of Divine Mother — unique in Kyzylorda and the Kyzylordinsky area, an operating temple of Russian Orthodox Church. The temple has been named in honour of the Kazan icon of Divine Mother.
