Pavlodar Region was founded in the north-east of Kazakhstan in 1938. Its capital – Pavlodar city is situated on the bank of Irtysh River – the largest river in Kazakhstan.
Most part of the region is steppe plain which was called Saryarka since olden days. “Saryarka” in word-for-word translation from Kazakh means “Yellow plain” – Golden plain. There is also one of the most beautiful places in Kazakhstan - Bayanaul. Mountains, pine forests, flora and fauna, Zhasybay, Toraygyr, Sabyndykol Lakes make indelible impression and attract many tourists from all sides of Kazakhstan and even the world.
Pavlodar region is one of the main industrial regions of Kazakhstan. Great potential of natural resources, developed industrial and social infrastructures, scientific and technical potential – all of these help to develop and improve economical structure not only in provinces, but in the whole Republic.
