Kazakhstan became the first country on the post-Soviet territory which has been awarded abuse to spend the Seventh winter Asian games. Supervising persons have concerned with all gravity and responsibility preparation and organisation of Asiada 2011.
Building and reconstructive works on sports objects, both Astana and Almaty are actively conducted. In the middle of 2010 end of building and opening of skating stadium is planned in Astana, and also the palace of sports "Kazakhstan" in which carrying out of competitions on figure skating is planned will be reconstructed. The Olympic village will be constructed with the press centre, covered skating stadium, and also covered football stadium where solemn ceremony of opening of the Seventh Asian games 2011 on January, 30th, 2011 will take place.
However the big role in the winter Asian games will play also and southern "capital" of Kazakhstan – Almaty. The great attention is given to reconstruction of technical networks of a high-mountainous complex "Medeu" – sports pride of Almaty. Competitions on hockey, and also solemn ceremony of closing of the Seventh winter Asian games is planned here. Process of reconstruction of "Medeu" included some stages. First of all the free area of a machine hall has been involved and equipped, sports halls, premises for administration and attendants of a skating rink are constructed. Besides it according to the international standards the system of illumination of ice arena, television, security systems, video observation means, an electronic board and many other things will be established. Also the ice field is changed: it is prepared for trainings, sports actions both local scale, and international. Now "Medeu" is opened for mass driving and carrying out of cultural actions on ice.
Also large objects in preparation for the Asian games are mountain-skiing base "Shymbulak" where competitions on mountain skiing and freestyle, an ice Palace of sports of Baluan Sholak, ski stadiums in Soldiers gorge near Talgar, and also the international complex of springboards in a southern part of Almaty will be held. In the international complex of springboards will pass competitions on jumps on skis from springboards К129 and К95. According to technology requirements of carrying out of the international competitions the complex of springboards will consist of two parts. The first part will include two ski springboards of international standard К129 and К95, tribunes for spectators, media centre, a judicial tower, a premise for sportsmen and trainers, a parking and rope paths. The second part will consist of the educational centre on jumps from a springboard, a covered sports hall with pool and a racetrack, sports school. Also the rope-way to a starting tower will be spent that considerably will facilitate trainings to sportsmen. The palace of sports of Baluan Sholak also will be reconstructed and equipped for competitions on a short-track. From a West side the building which will include the medical centre, booths, the VIP – a box, public catering institutions will be attached.
The ski complex in Soldiers gorge is intended for competitions on biathlon, cross-countries, and also in the future for Winter Olympic games and World Cups. During the periods between competitions the complex will give possibility to train to professional sportsmen, both a national team of Kazakhstan, and sportsmen from other countries. Uniqueness of a complex consists that it can function at any time year, is suitable as for competitions of the international level, and also for training of professional sportsmen and visiting of tourists.
Total sportsmen will participate in Asiada 2011 from 30 countries, competitions by 11 kinds of the sports and seven of them will be held in Almaty.
